**NEWS**

Little Tiger, winner of the 2008 Twemlows Hall Burghley Scholarship, started off our "new" season with her arrival on 1st February. Frostie, as she is known, is here for embryo transfer and inspite of having a track record for poor conception she has taken first time and her embryo is now safely sitting in Equity, one of our recipient mares. Frostie is now trying for a second embryo before returning to Dr Polly Taylor for her preparation for the eventing season. Little Tiger, ridden by Phoebe Buckley, finished 16th at last September's Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials where she was the highest placed British bred or domiciled mare.

She has recently been joined by Femma, a beautiful black Friesian carriage driving and dressage mare. Femma is the first and only "Friesian Model" mare in the UK - an award given to only a handful of Friesian mares worldwide each year - she has also come for embryo transfer and we are very pleased to announce that her recipient, Jubilee I, is safely carrying Femma's embryo.

We have recently held two Embryo Transfer Open Days at which we demonstrated ET techniques and talked about the practical and financial implications of ET programmes in competition horses.

Our new Stud Management Course held recently was a great success with delegates from as far afield as Surrey and Northumberland. The course took place over three days covering topics from grassland management and grass conversation, environmental issues, legislation, regulations and employment, stud facilities and veterinary matters. We hope to repeat the course next winter, possibly before Christmas.
